FAST TRACK HYDRO-DEMOLITION
Hydro-technologies implements a Fast Track Hydro-Demolition Method™ to quickly prepare a highway bridge deck prior to the placement of a concrete overlay. The hydrodemolition robot operates over the entire surface of the bridge deck to remove all deteriorated and delaminated concrete and to provide a highly bondable surface for the new overlay. There are three advantages of hydrodemolition over conventional methods:

Time Savings:
Total surface hydrodemolition is much faster and more productive than concrete removal with jackhammers, therefore project durations are minimized and disruption to the general traveling public is kept to a minimum. Concrete demoltion can also be performed during night and weekend closures if high traffic volume is an issue. -
Quality:
The Fast Track Hydro-Demolition Method™ selectively removes delaminated and chloride contaminated concrete and avoids the unnecessary removal of sound concrete. The rough surface left by this process provides an excellent bond. The original reinforced steel is exposed, cleaned and ready to concrete restoration with latex modified concrete overlay. -
Cost Savings:
The shorter closure time reduces the construction costs associated with traffic control, work zone safety measures and road user costs. All deteriorated and chloride contaminated concrete is removed reducing maintenance costs and extending the service life of the new overlay.
